Revlon Super Lustrous Gloss in Kiss Me Coral ♡

I've been addicted to lip-gloss lately. I never thought I'd say that considering lipstick has a special place in my heart but the glossy finish and the ease of application means that I'm reaching for glosses over lipsticks this summer. A long time favorite of mine has been the Benefit High Shine Gloss in Spiked Punch - a pretty peachy pink in a sticky-free, smooth formula gloss which I mentioned on this blog just as it was beginning, aw.
Revlon's offerings on the gloss front have been my current favorite, though. Their Super Lustrous Gloss in Kiss Me Coral had me at hello, especially in the new, super chic packaging *ooooo*. The colour caught my eye first and then the beautiful sparkle had me running to the  checkout at Boots. Revlon have aced the smooth formula I need in a gloss and have also earned some massive brownie points in the pigmentation department. This gloss is called 'Super Lustrous' for a reason as it has the most pretty, sheeny finish which helps enhance my pout - which I most definitely need. All this wonderfulness for only £6.99, how could I say no?
I'm definitely thinking about picking up one of these glosses in the near future - there's plenty of shades to choose from so I may just come home with them all (I wish).

Have you tried these glosses? If so, are you gushing over them like me?

New In: Zara Box Messenger Bag

Hello strangers.
It has been far too long since I've blogged properly and I have missed it so much. Exams are finally over and the dreaded wait for the results begins *boo*. I hope everyone's exams went well and I wish you all luck on results day, I have my fingers and toes crossed for all of us.
Since exams have finished I've been on a bit of a shopping spree (haul post soon maybe?) and I picked up this beautiful little bag from Zara. Zara never disappoint in the bag department and with this gorgeous piece being only £23.99 I couldn't help but fall in love with it. My boyfriend very kindly got this for me as a little after exams present which was incredibly kind and I haven't stopped wearing it since.
Firstly, I adore the colour. This bag actually comes in 3 colours - blue, green and neon yellow, all of which are gorgeous so it was hard to choose but I couldn't resist this bright, electric blue. It's the perfect sized bag to carry everything I need and I love all the compartments it has. It's split into three inside. The zipped pocket is great for make-up or any valuables and the two sections either side are really spacious for other daily items. There's also a pocket on the front which I use to store my phone so I can easily take it in and out without rummaging. As always the quality of this bag is lovely, it's held it's boxy shape and I love the envelope style.
I think this is the perfect summer bag and if you can get you're hands on this piece I couldnt' recommend it enough.

'Til next time,

You may have noticed a few changes...

I'm not sure if many of you would of noticed but my blog is now "and beauty". I've been wanting to change the name of my blog for a very very long time now and I finally settled with a nice, new name that wasn't already taken. It had to be changed as 'the state of dreaming' was the name of the song and I felt like I was stealing it too much. It's kind-of awkward that I've changed it because many of you may not be able to find me for a while and I lost my followers on Bloglovin' :(
So this post is to let you all know what's happened and if you would like to continue to read my blog then please follow me on Bloglovin' here or you can use the buttons to the right. As we'll be saying farewell to google reader in June, I highly recommend you follow using Bloglovin' to keep up to date with my blog.
Thank-you for your lovely comments, support and for being all round fabulous people.

What do you think of the new name?

MAC Archie's Girls... ♡

I'm not usually that interested in any of MAC's collections. Nothing usually catches my eye but I think their newest one, Archie's Girls, is really something special.
It's been around for a while now so maybe I am a little bit late with this post, but I've only recently got my hands on a few of the bits from the collection. I know lots of the collection is sold out now but I managed to get these bits from the MAC store in Cardiff, which had quite a few bits left if you're hoping to get some last minute bits and are nearby.
Let's start by mentioning how cute the packaging. I am in love. Both the outer box packaging and the product packaging are adorable. The cute graphics of Betty and Veronica with the cute little hearts had me at hello.

The products featured in the collection are all lovely. Think Spring and Summer brights - bright pinks and reds with splashes of purple and some neutrals thrown in there too. I love how they created separate products for both Betty and Veronica, with Betty having the lighter pinky and peachy tones whilst they gave Veronica a deeper edge. The 'Betty' products were more suited to my skin-tone so I kind-of wanted them all but I also picked up an absolute gem from the Veronica set. I really wanted to get the gorgeous Pearlmatte Face Powder's the collection had to offer, a pearlescent powder with cute heart embellishment, but they were completely sold out everywhere - dammit.

The polishes in the collection were absolutely gorgeous - I had my eye on the pastel pink shade but I thought one was enough. This shade is perfect for the upcoming spring and summer months as it's a bright, candy pink. It looks gorgeous on my nails and really compliments my pale complexion. The formula is something I was really pleasantly surprised about. I've never heard anything good about the MAC nail polishes so I've never been to fussed about purchasing one, but I thought I'd give one a go as it is soo pretty. I'm not too sure about the MAC formula's for their nail polishes but this one is a 'Creme'. It's smooth, pigmented, easy to apply and the best thing, it's so glossy and shiny  I feel I don't need to apply a top coat over it as it doesn't chip very easily and has their nicest sheen. I can't wait to get my hands on more of the MAC polishes, they're definitely a bit of an underdog product.

I've never tried a lip-gloss by MAC but the shade of this one caught my eye - a beautiful pink with a hint of coral. Perfect for Spring and Summer and I've really been enjoying wearing lip-gloss instead of lipstick these past few weeks, as they are a fuss-free alternative. I love this one because the shade is so pretty and the formula is smooth and glossy without being too sticky. This is in the Lipglass formula, which I believe is their basic lip-gloss formula - it has a slight stickiness to it but it manages to still feel comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation is great and the shade really brightens up my face. I love wearing it for a subtle-pink lip.

This is the absolute gem of the collection. I never ever wear a red lip as I find it just doesn't look nice with my pale and slightly pink skin-tone. I find a standard red just makes me look weird so I've never really bothered trying to find a red that looked nice, I just accepted it and moved on. My boyfriend actually picked this out for as he said I never seem to wear red lipstick and he'd like to see it on me, and he did a terrific job, well done  Mick. I've definitely found the perfect red. I think this one looks nice on me because it has definite pink undertones so it isn't so ''red'' if y'know what I mean, think more of a raspberry red. I think this is quite apparent from the swatch but if you'd like to see it on my then there is a picture here. I was a bit worried about the lipstick itself being dry due to it being in a 'matte' formula but I was so impressed to see how smoothly is glided on which meant it had a slight sheen, which is perfect for me. It also lasted around 2-3 hours on my lips and faded nicely without leaving that 'ring' of colour around my lips like most lipsticks do which make me look like I'm sporting a liner with no lipstick look, which isn't too nice. Lily from What I Heart Today also raved about this lipstick here, so I think it's a bit of an all-rounder considering how completely different our skin-tone/hair colour's are. This lipstick is a definite winner and is 100% worth the slightly expensive price-tag, good job MAC. I'm hoping to see this shade re-promoted in the near future.

I do feel a little bit guilty posting this as I know lots of the collection is sold out online and in-stores but the polish and lip-gloss are still in stock on the MAC website if you want to get your hands on them. If you can then I urge you to buy something from this collection as it's a good'un and I've been really wowed by each of the products I got. I'm looking forward to see what new collection's MAC have in-store for us this year.

Have you tried anything from the Archie's Girls collection? Do you plan on getting anything if you haven't already?

Hello April...

I love April. It means the start of Spring so this month will be all about spring cleaning for me. I'm giving my room a bit of a make-over and I am starting this by laying down some new wood flooring tomorrow, how exciting. I'm also getting a new bed and desk and some where nice to store my make-up (maybe a post on that when it's all done if you're interested).
Sadly, April also means that the Summer exams are edging ever so closer so I'll also been revising like crazy. I have lots of literature coursework to finish up and I have 5 exams to study for, sigh. Hopefully blogging won't take a massive decline during this busy time - I will be trying my best to keep it up in-between all of the school work as I kind-of think it keeps me sane during this time of stress.

What does April mean for you?

Spring Wishes...

Spring is one of my favourite season's, and not just because of all the guilt-free chocolate I get to eat at Easter. I love the idea of fresh make-up during this time of year. Think fresh, polished and radiant skin with hints of peach and pink goodness on the lips and cheeks. A subtle and fuss free eye with a slick of mascara - perfect.
My make-up routine is pretty much still in Winter mode, although who can blame me when it's currently snowing outside, so here are some products I've been lusting over that will hopefully pull me out of Winter mode and push me straight into Spring.

I've been hearing a couple of my favourite beauty bloggers talking about the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener recently and as soon as I heard about it, I wanted it, in true blogger style. The Bobbi Brown correcter had always appealed to me because of my dark under-eye circles but the thick and dry consistency put me off so this new formula is completely perfect for me and will hopefully rid me of my dark under-eyes just in time for Spring. Sticking with the bright and awake eye theme, the NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Alhambra seems like the perfect product to create a brightening but polished eye look. The more pink shade would make a perfect highlight for the inner corners of the eye and the more gold/tan shade would look lovely swept across the lid - with a subtle slick of brown kohl liner and lashings of mascara, it could create the perfect, fuss free Spring eye.
Fresh and glowing skin screams Spring to me and the Laura Mecier Radiance Foundation Primer appears to be the perfect product to create a subtle glowing base. I've heard lots of good things about the Laura Mecier primers so this product has got me seriously lusting.
I adore peachy shades - especially for the spring. Peach shades just seem to suit my pale complexion which is why I kind-of think I need the Tom Ford Lip Colour Shine in Insidious. As well as having absolutely gorgeous packaging *swoon*, the shade itself is beautiful. I can't resist a shiny and sheer lip and this lipstick seems like the perfect formula for a fuss free but pretty lip.

I've gone a bit crazy for matching nail and lip combos, especially after reading Vivianna's 'Matchy Matchy' blog post. Chanel Le Vernis in June seems like the perfect shade to compliment the Tom Ford Lipstick. We all know during spring pastel nails are a bit of a must, and this peachy shade seems like the perfect one. I'm on the look out for a bit of a dupe at the moment as I can't quite part with £18 for a nail varnish, even if it's Chanel.

What are you lusting over this Spring?

Prom Snippets

A very picture heavy post, I know.
Hello strangers. I've been a bit of a bad blogger over the past two weeks and for that I can only apologise  I've been a busy bee and also on Saturday March 2nd it was my sixth form prom. I thought I'd share with you all some photos from the day as I had so much fun and I enjoyed being dressed up and feeling all girly for once.
I had my dress for a barganious £35 - I couldn't believe my luck. I love the dress itself - it was so comfortable and it made me feel really feminine  The sweetheart neckline makes this dress super flattering and makes me look like I have a tiny waist which I most certainly don't. I also love the soft and neutral colours scheme.
I fell in loooove with my shoes. They're also really feminine but are kept modern by their chunkiness. They were kind-of painful to wear due to my awkward feet but I did manage to do the cha cha slide in them so that's a success right?

I've just got back into the swing of revising for my summer exams so I'm sorry if posting is a bit sparse on times. I'm trying to organise myself a little schedule so I'm posting at least once a week but I can't seem to ever keep to schedules so we'll see how that goes.
I'm currently so nervous as I have my first set of AS results tomorrow - I have 3 results in total (biol, maths, chem) and I'm so worried as I wasn't happy with the exams I sat. Is anyone else receiving results tomorrow and is as nervous as me?

Pretty Please...

I've been feeling all Spring-like lately as the last few days here in the UK have been bright and sunny. It's still cold but it's starting to look a lot like Spring. I've been lusting after coral lipsticks recently and Chanel's 'La Favorite', which is part of their S/S13 collection, has captured my heart. The colour is gorgeous, just look at swatches online and get ready to swoon. Being Chanel it also seems that little bit extra special.
I also want to start wearing more dresses for spring and summer this year as I can't seem to get myself out of jeans. Casual dresses seem to look so pretty on others so I really want this floral one from Topshop - I love how it's monochrome so I can add a pop of colour with a bright lipstick or polish.
I also can't wait to start wearing cropped t-shirt this spring - I think they'll look really good with my american apparel easy jeans for a casual but put together look. I think these topshop ones are really cute and are responsibly priced so I can't wait to get my hands on these two.
I've been hearing quite a few bloggers talk about the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint and it seems like the perfect product for me. £29 is a little steep but hopefully if I watch the pennies I can treat myself in the up-coming months.

Are you eagerly waiting for Spring? What beauty products are you lusting over?

Valentine Nails ♡

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope your all having a lovely day, whatever you're doing. I don't think Valentine's is just for couples - its a day all about sharing the love and spreading some happiness.
I'm not doing anything today sadly. My boyfriend is a busy-bee and is stuck at work so we're having our Valentine's day tomorrow and going out for some yummy food. Today I've been giving myself a little pamper and decided to do a valentine's day inspired manicure - its extra easy but looks extra cute, what isn't cute about little hearts? (I am such a girl).

I started by applying a base coat, I used the Sally Hansen Double Duty Top & Base Coat. I then painted my ring finger nails in a pretty peachy-pink colour, I used Nails Inc InStyle Peach Sorbet for this. I then painted the rest of my nails in red by using the Nails Inc polish in St. James - a perfect true red. Using a nail art brush I create the little heart on my ring finger by placing three dots and then joining them up. I found this is the easiest way to get a perfect heart shape. If you don't have a nail art brush then I recommend using the end of a bobby pin or a tooth pick. I then sealed the polish with the Sally Hansen Double Duty Top & Base Coat - and there you have it, super-duper easy Valentine nails.

Thank-you all for being such a lovely group of followers and I can't believe I'm 2 followers away from 200, madness. It means so much to me that you all read and enjoy my blog and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

p.s. this isn't sponsored etc by Nails Inc I just happened to use both of their polishes as they're my favourites.

Bedtime Beauty

There's nothing I love more than having a little pamper every eveing before I drift off to sleep  - and as I sit here writing this post and singing my heart out to Lana Del Rey, I am really looking forward to having my nightly dose of indulgence this evening. Start by lighting your favorite candle for a hint of relaxation and let the pampering begin.

I start by removing my make-up and cleansing my skin. I like to use a richer cleanser in the evening such as the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm or the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - these both leave my skin cleansed yet nourished. I then follow with the Benefit Its Potent  Eye Cream which is a really light yet hydrating cream that sinks in incredibly fast to leave my under eyes as smooth as a baby's bottom. I then move onto moisturiser - recently I have been using the Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins which I cannot rave about enough. The cream itself actually feels like a cream/oil hybrid which helps to intensively moisturise my skin throughout the night which is a definite during the colder months. It also has a lovely scent, kind-of orangey and fresh but it also reminds me of cola bottle sweets, yum.
Then I give my lips a bit of a scrub with the Popcorn Lip Scrub from LUSH. I didn't expect to like the taste of this but I love it. Half the reason why I apply it is just so I can lick it off again, oops. I then apply the This Works Turbo Balm to my lips and cuticles as these have been a little dry of late. A cheaper alternative that is just as good is the Boots Botanics Face Super Balm which I have also been using on my elbows and dry patches on my face.
I then slather my body in the Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion from LUSH. I love using this in the evening after a relaxing bath as it's scent has hints of lavender which calm me for a good nights sleep. The lotion is also really hydrating and leaves my skin feeling smooth and nourished when I wake up in the morning. I finish off my little night time routine with my nightly dose of my favorite you-tubers and a spritz of the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray on my pillow to help me drift off. Bliss.

Do you have a night-time routine like mine? What's your favorite part?

LUSH Dream Cream Hand & Body Lotion ♡

This little pot of goodness came to me in one of LUSH's infamous gift boxes. One of my lovely friends got me one for Christmas and I was so pleased to see one of LUSH's best selling products, Dream Cream, inside.

This lovely light cream is aimed at the more sensitive of skins and aims to soothe and cool. It is said to be ideal for calming upset or hot and itchy skin. I definitely don't suffer from any sensitive skin conditions and would say the skin on my body is normal, so don't be fooled, this cream can work wonders on anyone with any skin type.
I don't know if you've already guessed but I have kind-of fallen in love with this product. I am a bit of a sucker for LUSH but this product is truly wonderful and has really impressed me. It is light in formula and sinks in to the skin quickly so you don't go through that 'tacky' skin phase and end up running around your bathroom/bedroom trying to make it sink in quicker, or is that just me? I find this happens with many body creams I have tried and it is always something that has turned me off moisturising my body on a regular basis. Despite being light and sinking in quickly it feels incredibly rich and moisturising on my skin and I can't seem to stop using it.
I also love the scent. As this product is targeted at more sensitive skin types, it doesn't have a strong or prominent scent but it does have a hint of the lovely aromas of lavender which make applying this at night extra nice because of the scents calming and soothing properties. I'm glad the scent is subtle as it doesn't interfere with the scent of my perfume, another factor which makes me love this product that little bit more.
I couldn't recommend this product enough, it's light yet moisturising and is packed with no nasty ingredients which makes me feel as if I'm being extra kind to my skin and giving it a treat every evening.
This pot of goodness is only £10.95 for 240g and I will definitely be purchasing the full size after I've used up this little sample pot. Maybe even sooner if I can't resist.
If you'd like to learn more about the ingredients in this product and how they can help with conditions such as eczema or if you just want to give this product an order then click here.

I hope your all having a wonderful week and are enjoying the lovely snow we've had here in the UK!

♡ MAC / Rebel ♡

Rebel was actually my first lipstick and purchase from MAC. I thought it was such a unique and lovely colour, especially for the autumn/winter months being a deep purple with a pop of fuchsia  It's not quite the typical 'berry/purple' shade which is why is caught my eye.

Rebel is a satin finish lipstick so it isn't shiny nor matte when applied but the perfect balance between the two. It sticks around for 1-2 hours on me - I find lipsticks never last that well on me and tend to go patchy but this one fades perfectly leaving behind a lovely stain, which is something I really do love. Although, I do find sometimes when it's applied the colour can look 'uneven'. Some parts can look darker than others which is something that makes this lipstick a bit hit and miss for me and leaves me a bit uneasy about wearing it if I don't have much time to spend applying it perfectly. It's definitely not a lipstick you can slap on from the tube and run out the door.

I'm still so glad I have it in my collection, it really is a lovely lipstick when you take your time applying it, building it up using a lip brush in thin layers. When applied like this it looks gorgeous  especially with a gloss of the top. I recommend the Natural Collection Lipgloss in Fondant, I lovely peachy shade which is non sticky and cheap as chips. I would definitely recommend this it if your looking for a winter/autumn lipstick with a bit of a twist, I really do think this lipstick is very unique in colour and isn't something you'll find on the high-street which makes the price tag a little more bare-able  I urge you to go to a MAC store and give it a little swatch because it is a gorgeous colour in person.

As always MAC lipstick are one of my favorites (although only owning two). I think you definitely get your money's worth and they have a huge collection of beautiful shades. I'm currently lusting over Craving (I blame Helen for this!) and Sunny Seoul.

Are you lusting over any lipsticks? What's your favorite lipstick for the colder months?

NEOM Luxury Organics Travel Candle in Serenity ♡

I've been lusting over the NEOM candles after hearing many other beauty bloggers talk about them. They seemed to ooze luxury and all of the scents sound divine. I was so happy to receive one of their travel candles from my parents at Christmas, they really must know me well.
I received the Serenity candle which I think NEOM sum up the scent of perfectly. It's a definite vanilla with a deep edge and it smells divine, it's definitely a very unique scent, I have never smelt a vanilla like this. I love burning this candle whilst I'm revising as it really helps to calm and relax me and fills my room with it's beautiful scent. This is something that I think is soo impressive for such a small candle (75g), even my mum commented on how lovely it made my room smell. What I love about this candle is that the scent is strong but it doesn't feel like it is 'choking' you. I've had problems with Yankee Candle's in the past where I've felt that some of their scents have made me throat swell and I feel choked which makes me uneasy about burning them and I usually end up wasting a candle.
As you can see from the above picture NEOM's candles are made from a blend of 100% natural vegetable wax and pure aromatherapy oils. They don't contain synthetic frangrance which is why I think they don't affect my throat or breathing which makes the slightly expensive price tag worth it to me. They won't leave black marks around the glass jar which means I'm not breathing in any soot, unlike many of the Yankee Candles I have tried.
NEOM say that their travel candles burn for around 5 hours but I would say mine lasted around 10 hours which really impressed me. The travel candles don't last a really long time considering they have a £15 price tag (especially if you burn it all day like me) but I think its a great way to try out the candles before you splash out on the larger, 3 wick size. They are also such a pleasure to burn that I think it's worth it.
I also can't wait to use the jar for little trinkets and jewellery once I've cleaned it.
This candle retails for £15 for 75g and the full size (300g) retails at £39.50, but both are currently on sale  here and here. I'm praying that they aren't discontinuing this scent.
I can't wait to repurchase this lovely candle in the full size and also try out some more of their scents, I am currently after the happiness candle and the treatment candle.

Have you tried any NEOM products?

'Til Next Time,
p.s. sorry for the lack of posts, January exams have taken over, but my last one is on Monday so blog posts will be more regular from next week. Yay.

MAC Morange Dupe ♡

If you are a regular reader of my blog you may have noticed I am a little bit in love with MAC's lipstick in Morange. It's featured in both of my recent outfit posts and it has a whole post dedicated to it here, it's safe to say I am a little bit obsessed with it so naturally I have been on the hunt for a dupe and I think I've found one, introducing Topshop's Mexican Wave.

I found Mexican Wave recently in the Topshop sale for a bargainous £3. Unfortunately it was part of the Louise Grey collection so I assume they are discontinuing it, but there were loads in store when I visited a few days so I'm sure you can still get it. Also, I believe Topshop will probably re-promote this shade as it is so gorgeous and I have seen similar shades before this one was released. I will be sure to update you if they do bring it out again.

As you may be able to notice from the photos, Mexican Wave is a slightly more pinky/red shade and is not as neon and orange as the Morange, which I barely noticeable on the lips. The formulation of both lipsticks are very similar. They are both creamy to apply but gradually get more matte. Morange is a teeny bit creamier and smoother than Mexican Wave but both apply beautifully. I would say they both last between 1-2 hours on the lips which is standard for me.
They are both very similar so if you want to try Morange but you're a bit weary of the price then this is the perfect lipstick for you, just snap it up quick before it sells out.

Do you have any MAC dupes?

★ Hello 2013 ★

Shirt // New Look
Jeans // American Apparel
Necklace // Topshop
Shoes // H&M
Nails // Topshop (Hidden Treasure)
Lipstick // MAC Morange

I hope you all had a wonderful new year whether you went out and celebrated or had a night in. I went to the pub with my boyfriend and his family and it was really nice. Lots of kisses and hugs at midnight and it was nice spending time with my boyfriend's family.
I didn't wear anything too fancy but I really love this shirt from New Look that my mum got me for Christmas. It has such a lovely print and is super easy to style. I just popped it on with my Easy Jeans as I love them and can't take them off. Sometimes I feel a little self-conscious in them as they do show up everything and I'm not the smallest of people but I still love them, I want to get them in a darker shade as I think my 'lumps and bumps' won't show up as much then. I then threw on these chunky heels from H&M. These are my go-to heels as they are so comfy but still look really good. H&M do some of the best heels for comfort.

So, what are your plans for 2013? This year should be a good one for me as I'm turning 18 and learning to drive and hopefully going on holiday too. I don't have any resolutions as such just to be a little more positive  I'm starting with that by buying the 14,000 things to be happy about book and leaving it on my desk so I can flick through it when I'm feeling down. I also want to put my all into my AS levels. I want to work really hard so I can feel like I deserve a pat on the back by the end of them. My first exams are in a few days so sorry if blogging becomes a little sparse, I am trying to revise like crazy.
I also want to grow my blog throughout the new year. I'm looking forward to what 2013 holds for my little blog and I'm really hoping I can create my own little slice of the web. I really want to make it even more enjoyable for myself and really invest some time into it so you guys get great content that I've really enjoyed creating. I've been reading Blog Inc and I am really enjoying it so far. It's really made me think about where I want to take this blog and how I'm going to do it.

What are your new years resolutions if you have any? What does 2013 hold for you?

Thank-you all for being such amazing readers throughout 2012 and wish you all love and happiness.

'Til Next Time,
