Halloween "Scary Eyes" Nails! + Tutorial

I couldn't sleep Friday night so I decided to do something fun/new/interesting with my nails! I saw a design very similar to the one above on Tumblr, and thought it looked pretty simple and decided to try it out :-) I am very pleased with the results and I have received many compliments on them, it was quick and easy to create also! :-)

  • Apply a base-coat to you nails, I used No.7's "So Smooth" Base-coat. This will protect your nails from any damage from the nail polish.
  • Apply an opaque coat of white nail polish to all of your nails. I used Natural Collection's "Nail Tip Whitener".
  • With the brush/applicator of any nail polish that is an appropriate colour for an eye, and dab it into the centre of the nail. This should create the larger circle, or "iris", of the design. I used No.7's "Stay Perfect" nail polish in "320 - Minty Fresh".
  • Then using the tip of a bobby pin or hair slide, dip it into a dark coloured nail polish, preferably black, and dab it into the centre of the larger circle you previously created. This will be the pupil of the eye. I used Barry M Nail Polish in "292 - Navy".
  • Then get a tooth pick and dip it into the same white nail polish that you used as a base, and place it on the right, or left, side of the "pupil" or the small, darker circle you just created. This will make the eye stand out and look more realistic.
  • Then use another tooth pick and dip it into a red shade of nail polish. Create lines that flick out at the ends, rather like branches on a tree, around the eye until satisfied, I did it 5/6 times. This will act as the blood vessels surrounding the eye, and make the eye seem more "scary". I used Collection 2000's "Hot Looks" Nail Polish in "28 - Hip Hop"
  • If you want to make your nails look more detailed then use a peachy colour and place that, with a tooth pick, alongside the red colour you applied beforehand. This will add shading to the nails, and again make them look more detailed and realistic. I used Barry M Nail Polish in "318 - Peach Melba".
  • Then apply your favourite top-coat. I used No.7's "Stay Perfect" Quick drying top-coat.
  • Then you should have Halloween ready nails :-)
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy nail tutorial and I'd love to hear if you wanted any more tutorials? Or any other requests, just leave them in the comments below! Thanks :-)

17 Wild Metallics Cream Eyeshadow in Wild Nude - Review

Hey guys! Just a quick review on a new product I've been trying out recently that's been requested :-)

I'm actually in the middle about this product. It can be purchased from Boots for £3.99, which I think is reasonable for what the product is. The colour is really beautiful though. I haven't tried any of the other shades out, but they come in silver, purple, blue, green, bronze, and obviously the nude shade I have. I really do love the colour of this particular one though. It's the right balance between a light/nude brown and a greyish colour, and looks very flattering with my blue eyes and pale complexion. You can blend the product well, for a sheer look, or pack more product on for a more "intense" look. It has a very subtle shimmer, which surprisingly I really like, and I find it brightens my eyes instantly.

I don't know if you can tell by the photo's above, but they texture of the product is very "mousse-like", which makes the product easy to blend and gives off a very "smooth" finish.

Swatch of what the product looks like when "packed" on, can be easily blended to create a subtle look too.
I love wearing this cream eye-shadow with a brown pencil eye-liner smudged into my top and bottom lashes. It gives a very messy/grungy, "effortless" make-up look, which I find great for school or if I'm going somewhere and I need to get ready in a rush. It also reminds me of the Olsen twin's make-up, which I'm a big fan of! I also like blending it into my crease with a fluffy blending brush, I usually use one by No.7,  which creates a subtle contour to my eyes, and brightens them. Although, I do find that when applied all over the lid, the product does crease, a lot. Which I guess I don't mind too much, but if you're not a fan, then I definitely do not recommend this product. I've tried setting it with eye-shadow and priming my lids with my favourite primer (urban decay's primer potion) but it still creases very badly. I wouldn't recommend wearing this if you know you're planning on having it on for a long period of time!

All in all, I guess I do like this product and I'm glad I bought it as I find it's quick and easy to use, and I'm glad it's part of my collection :-)

I hope you found this helpful! And if you have any requests leave them below in a comment :-)

Natural Collection - WaterGuard Mascara in Black - Boots - £1.99
Not too exciting, but surprisingly I really love this masacara! It serperates my lashes perfectly, and the price is pretty much unbeatable. I use it with the 'One by One' mascara by Maybelline, and it makes my lashes look perfect :-)

MAC Satin Lipstick - Rebel - £13.50

I absolutely love this lipstick! It's literally the perfect autumn colour for me. As you can see it doesn't swatch as dark as it looks in the bullet, but it gives off such a beautiful fuchsia, purple colour, with looks really nice with my pale, fair complexion. It's a satin also, so it has no shimmer, but still gives off a subtle shine, with I love! Well worth the price :-) and it was my first purchase from MAC so that's exciting tehe.
Daisy Fresh by Marc Jacobs - Boots - 75ml
My mum bought this for me and I've wanted it for such a long time so I was so thank-ful! It has a lovely sweet, fresh and clean scent, which I love as it's very subtle. And the bottle is gorgeous and looks great on my shelf! :-)

Just a basic vest with a pretty sheer pattern. Goes with so many things :-)
Vintage Levis - The Ragged Priest @ Topshop -  £28

I was so surprised to see these at topshop, and there was no way I was leaving them there as I'd wanted them for ages!  They were from an awesome vintage concession, which also sold oversized leather studded jackets, and big knit jumpers, they were beautiful!
