☮ Love of the Day | Fact or Quote #2 ☮

Hello everyone!
If you're wondering what 'Love of the Day' is then wander over to the lovely Louise's blog and read this post or you can read mine here.

Today is Friday and Friday is always a LOTD that features a fact or quote that has inspired you/stood out/interested you etc etc. Check out Louise's post here, the quote she featured was really very wonderful and although it was a religious one and I am not religious in the slightest, it's really stuck with me and has really made me feel a little strength. It will be a great one for those tough times or just when you need a little something to keep on going.

I firstly had no idea what I was going to feature this week so I had a little scroll through my Tumblr and I came across this quote.
Image from whitepaperquotes.tumblr.com

I chose this quote because I'm sometimes a very shy/awkward person and I tend to care a lot about what others think of me or how people see me. It's not a very good trait so when I read this quote I thought it was perfect for myself. I love it because It's so simple but it really makes me want to just stop caring about others and do things with a little more freedom. I've already saved this image to my phone so whenever I'm feeling a little concious about others I'm going to read over it and hopefully let loose a little bit. I hope this has had the same affect on someone else because I know many of us care a lot about others opinions and I really struggle to over come it but this makes me want to dance in public and gives me a little confidence boost.

How did this quote make you feel? What's your favourite quote right now?

☾ LOTD | Fact or Quote #1 ☾

Hello everyone!
If you're wondering what "LOTD" is then read the lovely Louise's blog post here or mine here.

Louise has decided that Friday's LOTD will be sharing either an interesting fact or an inspiring quote to "spread knowledge" and "cheer all". I thought this was such a good idea, I love interesting, fun little facts and lovely quotes so if you have one or have done this LOTD then leave the link below so I can have a nose, tehe.

As soon as I saw Louise's blog post here, I knew exactly what quote I wanted to feature. I found this image whilst doing the daily aimless scrolling through tumblr and fell in love with it. I think it's so lovely and I hadn't heard it before. I think it's a nice little "pick me up" type quote and inspires me to keep dreaming even when things seem unachievable. I can't explain why I just love it and it's also inspired me to do a little canvas painting to put up on my room (which I may show when it's finish if you like?).
I'm not sure if you guys know this but I love to paint. I haven't really done an artsy post, would anyone be interested in something like that? I hope so. I love Van Gogh anyway, not so much now but when I was a little bit younger he was the first artist I really admired and enjoyed constantly looking at their work aw. (I also loved the Doctor Who episode about him tehe)

How do you feel about this quote? What quote inspires you?

Halloween "Scary Eyes" Nails! + Tutorial

I couldn't sleep Friday night so I decided to do something fun/new/interesting with my nails! I saw a design very similar to the one above on Tumblr, and thought it looked pretty simple and decided to try it out :-) I am very pleased with the results and I have received many compliments on them, it was quick and easy to create also! :-)

  • Apply a base-coat to you nails, I used No.7's "So Smooth" Base-coat. This will protect your nails from any damage from the nail polish.
  • Apply an opaque coat of white nail polish to all of your nails. I used Natural Collection's "Nail Tip Whitener".
  • With the brush/applicator of any nail polish that is an appropriate colour for an eye, and dab it into the centre of the nail. This should create the larger circle, or "iris", of the design. I used No.7's "Stay Perfect" nail polish in "320 - Minty Fresh".
  • Then using the tip of a bobby pin or hair slide, dip it into a dark coloured nail polish, preferably black, and dab it into the centre of the larger circle you previously created. This will be the pupil of the eye. I used Barry M Nail Polish in "292 - Navy".
  • Then get a tooth pick and dip it into the same white nail polish that you used as a base, and place it on the right, or left, side of the "pupil" or the small, darker circle you just created. This will make the eye stand out and look more realistic.
  • Then use another tooth pick and dip it into a red shade of nail polish. Create lines that flick out at the ends, rather like branches on a tree, around the eye until satisfied, I did it 5/6 times. This will act as the blood vessels surrounding the eye, and make the eye seem more "scary". I used Collection 2000's "Hot Looks" Nail Polish in "28 - Hip Hop".
  • If you want to make your nails look more detailed then use a peachy colour and place that, with a tooth pick, alongside the red colour you applied beforehand. This will add shading to the nails, and again make them look more detailed and realistic. I used Barry M Nail Polish in "318 - Peach Melba".
  • Then apply your favourite top-coat. I used No.7's "Stay Perfect" Quick drying top-coat.
  • Then you should have Halloween ready nails :-)
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy nail tutorial and I'd love to hear if you wanted any more tutorials? Or any other requests, just leave them in the comments below! Thanks :-)
